what is the tense in both the sentences?

the first sentence : past tense.
the second sentence: present tense.

beat  என்ற வார்த்தையின் past tense ம் பீட் தான்.
since the first sentence subject 'he' is a third person singular it should take 's' with the verb in the present tense.
so it is
''he beats the boy ''....present tense.
''he beat the boy'' ..past tense.
