Your Baby Can Read

there is an oft repeated advertisement in the T.V channels ''Your baby can read ''.
When ever i see this ad ,I go back to the golden days of being with Karthik and I recall , how as an infant itself ,he was interested in reading.
My father wanted karthik to study in Montford School, Yercaud. But I was not willing to leave him in a hostel at so early an age. I told my father that I myself will teach him.
But no one need teach this '' PRODIGY '' , but I enjoyed the gifted privilege of teaching him.
Then itself [as you can see in the photo , when Karthik was not even six month old ] we went to a Russian bookfair and bought story books which were really interesting .And Karthik will never be satisfied even if i read the stories 100 times.
when we admitted him in L.K.G he was just 2@1/2 years old and he could tell the names of
1]months,
2]flowers,
3]animals,
4]days,
5]numbers @what not.
No mother would have taught a son like this. I used to teach him the difference between
plant,
creeper,
thorn,
bush,
tree
and in the same way
upstream,
downstream,
river,
perennial river,
seasonal river
like that and so many things. But it's all just an ignition of the switch. The great Horse picked up a heavenly speed and the voracious reading and the mammoth knowledge he had.....
I cannot boast saying that 'i taught him' because it needs a super brain to leran everything.
All in a minute became nothing. Leaving me living in a futile desert,in the scorching sun, longing for the rain drops which my Karthik only can give.
Saaaadly,
karthik amma
